6 Months Smoke Free IT CAN BE DONE!!

Just an update i have been officially a former smoker for 6 months.!!!

yes it can be done. it is extremly difficult, the anxiety attacks from being without the cigarettes will drive you nuts. so dont believe what you hear. IT IS NOT EASY!

it is not all wine and roses.

god bless all who have tried , all who have suceeded, and all who couldnt do it.

Allen Reed

Update : thank you all for the words of praise ,enlightenment & encouragement.

Hi Allen I am a smoker and have tried to give up may times...my problem is i feel like smething is missing when i try to give up...I know that i need aother avenue to put my mind to and I also know it has nothing to do with WILLPOWER but more to do with WONT POWER lol
My niece just gave up reading the book i think by Alan Carr she swore by it and says she has no craving so maybe i might give that a go...Good for you Allen

Congratulations~ I was a three pack a day smoker, I quit cold turkey and I am grateful that I never craved another one and to this day have never wanted to ever smoke again.. it was the best thing I ever did.. I feel it is different for everyone and the side affects also vary dependent upon your chemistry and lifestyle.. I had very few side affects and thankfully had no anxiety. I attribute some of it to always being busy, (I am a massage therapist/ esthetician / Hairdresser outside of Keen and my hands are always occupied .. it really makes a big difference and drinking lots and lots of water..I commend you for accomplishing your goal.. it has been ten years now for me.. Meditation is also a key...Good for you Allen and I wish you sustained achievement

Had to add my compliments to you, and a pat on the back for making this milestone.
I never smoked but ever since I was a kid I knew how important it was when someone quit... my dad used to give them $100.00 if he knew anyone who quit, and that was 40 yrs ago.

Congratulations!  I am a reformed smoker...but still an addict inside.  I have been smoke free for five years but have to admit that I sometimes chase a person down the street to get a whiff of the smoke and when I smell the smoke of a cigarette I crave one to this day.  It is the hardest addiction in the world to overcome I believe but I thank God everyday for seeing me through the ordeal of quitting.  I wish you great success and hope that you will stay smoke free forever.  I know that the damage that has been done to my body from cigarette smoking for over 40 years is not reversible but I am so glad that I quit.
