VALENTINES DAY HISTORY

There are many schools of thought about how we came to celebrate Valentine's Day. For starters, most agree that on this day - sometime between 269 and 273 AD - one of many Catholic Saints named Valentine died, thus marking February 14th as St. Valentine's Day. But that, of course, was a Catholic holiday. Then how did it become a celebration of love? Over the ages, the religious implications have fallen away only to be replaced by romantic gestures of love inspired by poets and kings. Today, though Valentine's Day is first and foremost a celebration of romantic love, the holiday has grown to include giving heartfelt cards and small gifts to beloved family members and friends.Give a gift to yourself or your lover and call Rippi to see what will be for Valentines day for you and your loved one...
