What is the state of our spiritual economy?

No matter where you turn in the past few weeks, you've been hearing, economy bad, economy bad, economy bad.  This have been blown out of porportion.  Don't let the bad economic news affect you by causing you to live fear.  Instead, take this time to open up your awareness to make sure that you are prepared in the future.  If we look at history, there are always going to be cycles of recession, just like there are going to always be certain periods of economic blooms.

In a way, you can compare what's going on with the financial economy to your "spiritualeconomy."  The state of your mind, spirit and soul.  This is a perfect time to practice not letting fear rule your mind.  Take control of your thoughts and seperate your emotions from your finances.  Seperate your emotions from the ups and downs of life as well.

It is time to get wise and live wise.  It's time to teach the next generation to live wise as well.  It is my opinion that the main cause of the housing meltdown is that so many people bought homes that they could not afford because they turned their "want" for a bigger house into a "need."  And the banks made it so easy to purchase the home, by offering lower interest rates that would later adjust to higher interest rates.  But the bottom line is, that some of these people could afford a smaller home, but chose to purchase larger homes that they didn't need.

Be wise.  When the economy turns back to normal, "which it will eventually.", then remember to handle your finances wisely and prepare yourself for hard times.  Think about the ants.  They are very smart.  When it is not winter outside, they prepare.  The constantly store up food and they work smart.  When winter time comes, they have enough food to last throughout the winter season.  We could learn a lot from these simple creatures.

So before you purchase things that you "want", make sure that you take care of things that you "need."  Take baby steps and prepare over time.  Everyone's situation is different, but no matter where you are, you can start from somewhere.  Even if it's saving a dollar a month.  I know that sounds extreme.  But start focusing on ways that you can make things happen in your life, instead of focusing on what you don't have.  In the future, before you take on more credit, car, house, etc, make sure that you can truly truly afford it.

It's time to check the state of our spiritual economy!!

# Why was I just blocked?

Thursday, January 15, 2009 3:26 AM by designrogue
Dear Ryan,
I had just attempted to call you (and I am a first time caller who has not yet spoken to you) and saw that the call did not go through. When I rescheduled the call and then discovered you were online and reattempted to connect, I discovered I had been blocked - may I know why?

I apologize for posting this in your blog, but I had no other medium and I am very surprised as to why I'd be blocked by an advisor whom i have not yet spoken to!
