3 Pounds of Royalty!

I would like to introduce the newest member of our family...Miss Ellie Mae

Weighing in at only 3.1 pounds, Miss Ellie Mae is a 2 year old Chilhuaha, and this is as big as she is going to get!  She was brought into the Humane Society where my sister works about three weeks ago when her orginal owner, an elderly woman, passed away.  At the time my sister was told that she didn't walk very well because the woman had carried her around since birth.  Knowing that my daughter has been wanting a 'purse puppy' for years, my sister immediately phone me to see if we wanted Ellie Mae.  My former husband had promised my daughter he would buy her a puppy of her choice when she moved out on her own.  Given the fact that he past away only a week prior to Ellie Mae's arrival, and she is a purebreed, we took this as a sign that she was to be adopted by my daughter.

Well, the first vet visit we discovered that not only did she require extensive dental surgery, she was also suffering a fractured pelvis!!!  Poor thing!!  Apparently someone had stepped on her prior to her arrival at the Humane Society and didn't bother telling anyone!  Luckily with some TLC, which we have lots of, some anti-flamatories, and limited activities we can avoid hip surgery.

So here is Miss Ellie Mae in her pink hoodie...resting queitly in her new bed, with heating pad, blankies, stuffed monkey, recovering from her dental surgery and fractured pelvis.  (Ahem, her hoodie matches my daughters, and her nails are painted pink--can we say PRINCESS!!! LOL)

Thanks for allowing me to share this moment in our lives with you...

Blessed be!

Oh my goodness, what a precious baby!  I am so glad your daughter adopted her from the Humane Society.  She is a little angel.  You can see the love radiating from her eyes...she is happy now.  I just adore little dogs.  :)

Blessings to that lovely little baby and to you and your daughter who she adopted!  We rescued our Chewie from the freeway where someone dumped him and he is our baby and life would not have been half as much fun without him.  I know joy will come with this bit of a dog.  I am glad she found you and so is the tall white haired lady on the other side blessing you for saving her baby.

Thanks for the wonderful comments & encouragement.  Due to the kid's soft-hearts we have acquired four cats over the years...that I care for mind you!  I was not about to allow my son or daughter to bring another animal home for me to care for.

However, it appears their father (bless his heart) envolved some type of divine influence because my son (who now lives on his own) acquired a AKC Pug from the same Humane Society that same week.  His dog of choice.  And the along comes Ellie Mae...enough to soften even the sternest of mothers.

Hmmm, how is it that even tho he has gone to the other side their father still manages to 'one up me' when it comes to our kids?  ROFL  Oh what divine influence can do, eh?

Have a blessed weekend!
