Early Riser...

Normally I perfer to sleep later on the weekends, especially after a week of traveling, but that is not possible today.  Upon arriving home yesterday my daughter informed me that she made appointments starting as early as 9:00 a.m. this morning to go look at reception halls, caterers, the church, and a "pop in" at the bridal shop to make her final decision on her dress!   Hmmm, last time we "popped in" at the bridal shop we left 4 hours later armed with booklets, fabrics, and a big goofy grin on her face!

Whew, I am dizzy just thinking about it and the wedding isn't until 2009!   I keep telling myself that once we make these first major decisions (hall, church, caterers, etc) and put down a deposit I will be able to take a break from all this wedding talk (keep in mind she has only been engaged a month now).  Ahem, but I have a feeling that until the day is upon us, I will be bombarded with brain storming sessions, color swatches, my days filled with giggling young women, countless shopping trips, a neurotic daughter, and a steady dwindling bank account!

So bear with me folks if my schedule seems a tad crazy...

I will be available for a little while this morning and then it is out the door running!  I have a late afternoon meditation workshop allowing me some much needed downtime.  Spending two hours focusing on meditation & relaxation will prepare to be available for calls this evening.

Blessings,

Melody "Lil Mel"

have fun wedding planning with your daughter! bring a camera and record some of these behind the scene details.
When my daughter got married, we had 4 mos. to plan it and there was a special book for that!
I think doing it way ahead of time will be good in a way( but make sure her bridal party do their jobs too... I really think a meeting with the other parents and the fiance, the best man, maid of honor and the attendants... division of labor helped us but my daughter did not want bridesmaids, so much fell on me( and I felt things went well! but it was constant errands and appts, like you are doing!! wear good shoes the wedding day is all I can say!! have fun!

Thanks Jazzy!  I need all the suggestions I can get.  She has several books and we have already decided on a theme...that's the first step.

Now as far as help...my daughter has 2 Maid-of-Honors, 3 Brides Maids, & a Jr Bride Maid!!!

Trust me, if at all possible, I will be dividing up some of this stuff! Especially since we have family scattered all over the place with no one close enough to help.

The next 17 months are gonna be very interesting! LOL

Dear Mel:

This is a very special time in your life to enjoy and relish in the closeness of your daughter for soon she will be on her own and with a life of her own.  Hold her close, record every minute like Jazzy suggests and let your tears flow when they must for this is a time she will also remember with her Mother.
