From Couch Potato to Runner...
Depressed? Get moving! Even moderate exercise apparently raises levels of a brain chemical that improves a person's mood!
Many runners have proclaimed that they experience a state of euphoria while running. While the actual state that they feel varies for each individual there is a common feeling associated with the term "runner's high". When a person is asked about runner's high they typically will say that it a pleasant state that a runner might experience after a certain distance. This in fact may not be true for only runners though. Skiers, surfers, football players and wrestlers all have "highs" or moments when they feel they are working to their maximum potential and feeling on top of the world. Runner's are not the only types of athletes that experience intense emotional feelings.
While I personally question this one...I have read that many people have related runner's high to the feeling of an orgasm!! However, during running the body and mind are both highly stimulated and seem to elevate a person's senses, so in that sense one could relate the two feelings.
Once a couch potato, I have been a runner for almost two years now, averaging 5-6 miles per day appoximately 6 times a week--schedule permitting. Of course I had to give up that nasty smoking habit I had for 25+ years. I have been smoke-free for two years this August! WooHoo, I never thought I would be able to say that!
True to my Virgo self, as a earth sign, I am a lover of nature and perfer to running outdoors. Running rejuvenates me, relieves stress, releases negative energies, and refreshs my attitude for the day! As a matter of fact, I am headed out for my morning run now...what a great way to start the day!
I will return refreshed, rejuvenated, energerized, and ready to take your calls! I will be available today from 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon & again from 5 pm - 11 pm (CST). I strongly advise the use of callbacks.
I look forward to connecting with you today! And as always, all new callers receive free minutes--send me a request BEFORE you call and I will make sure I send the minutes before our call.
Blessed be!
