Post-Christmas Silence
Shhhh....do you hear that? What is that I hear? Ahhhh...it's SILENCE!
The last few days my home has been the center of comings & goings, gift exchanges, food, drink & merryment! This morning I left my home at 3 a.m. to drive my daughter & friend to the airport for a 6 a.m. flight--with all the new rules you must be there 2 hours before flight time. With the airport a hour away we had little choice but to leave the house that early. By 7:00 this evening (my time) my daughter will be landing in Hawaii where temp is 80 degrees. While I feel a slight envy, she has worked very hard this past semester and managed to get through Organic Chemistry with a better-than-average grade! She is so deserving of this trip.
For the next 16 days it will be just me, three cats, & one pint-size canine. No television or stereo blaring, no doors slamming, loud conversations, (my daughter is deaf in one ear and only wears her hearing aid on rare occassions!) Like I said...SILENCE! :)
I hope that your Christmas was as joyful and wonderfully blessed as mine. Now its time for life to return to semi-normal activities. Meaning, it's time to get back to work. I have plans to go to dinner & dance performance with some friends this evening--but I will be available for Keen calls throughout the day & afternoon.
