Are You a Perfectionist?

We all wish to be loved and cared about.  Sometimes we think we're not good enough or don't measure up to having this and all things that we truly desire in our lives.  Are you always trying to measure up to the 'Joneses' or feel pressured to be 'perfect' at work or as partner in a relationship?  Do you feel you're always battling inner fears and insecurities-or are you afraid you never quite measure up to achieving success?  Stop for a moment now and ask yourself, "AM I a perfectionist?" AND "DO I expect everyone to meet up to MY 'standards for success'?  OR are you willing to allow yourself room for mistakes, growth and change as well as others?  Striving to be perfect every day can be more stressful than any one mistake, failure or challenge we can ever have in life.  We must be willing to accept we are human and as one-learn ONLY through our mistakes or failures.  The same goes for others in our lives. Learning to accept our weaknesses and mistakes is a sign of growth-doing something about them is what makes us stronger.

Are you accepting of everything of who you are today and those around you?  If not-ask yourself whose 'standards' are you comparing yourself AND others to?  Acceptance is part of life-including what we don't LIKE about ourselves and others we work with, live with and love. Stop comparing yourself and others to 'what you WANT to see' and look at what good things you can find within yourself AND others.

Life is accepting the fact that no-one is truly 'perfect'.

“The maxim ‘Nothing but perfection’ may be spelled ‘Paralysis.’”
~Winston Churchill~
