I Am Woman-Dedicated to Susan Boyle
I watched the news and caught the story about Susan Boyle and her AMAZING voice. They showed a bit of the You Tube video from the show "Britains' Got Talent'-and I was found it wonderful!
But not from the 'beginning'. I'm still shocked that people still are narrow-minded in most consider "beauty". This dear lady of 47 wore 'no makeup'--and was dressed modestly. Her appearance was not what the 'show' was expecting. But neither was her PERFORMANCE!
I thought this was worthy of a blog post indeed! How often we make quick 'judgements' about people and what they are capable of-IF given an opportunity to 'shine'!! Ms. Boyle didn't have what the judges thought was 'talent' at first-as well as the audience-some so boldly making faces at the dear lady who quickly turned frowns and disgruntled looks into ones of awe the minute she opened her mouth! Her sweet voice-so perfect and so full of love flooded this entire audience into near tears! The judges went into sheer shock-as well as the cast and crews. She had a standing ovation-when she finished-MUCH deserved! She also 'won' her place among the 'song shows'!
I wish this dear lady well-she deserves all the praises she got. As for the people who sneered-I sincerely hope they learned a LESSON. As the saying goes, "Never judge a book by its 'cover'"! In this case-and hopefully one we can all learn from-"NEVER judge a person by appearances!"
If you DO-you just may miss out on getting to know someone as talented and brilliant and full of love as Ms. Susan Boyle! *S* How often we all are guilty of this. Thank you Ms. Boyle for you have reminded myself and hopefully others, "Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder"!
The nite Susan shared that awesome voice-YOU were the 'beholder'! *S*
I have a poem up dedicated to Ms Boyle-that I'd written many years ago. This POEM is for ALL woman who worry about looks and appearance-and THEN finally realize the meaning of BEAUTY!
Ms. Boyle-you deserve all the applause you received and MORE!
