Steps to help you live easier...

Good Morning, Afternoon or whatever time of day it is when you get to reading this! ; ) I have been getting phone calls and e-mails from people asking me "Why am I feeling so drained?", "Am I being punished?" and questions to that effect.

I am wondering if there is a real answer out there. Some people say it's KARMA, some say it's the Planets, and some even say it's a Curse that has been placed upon you and your family.

My answer here is maybe it's a combination of lack of sleep, poor diet and little exercise, coupled together with to much coffee, not enough water and lots of stress and maybe a smidgen of being overworked? Oh and let's not forget the laundry, housework and cooking!

Does this sound like you? Well then maybe it is and what can you do about it? Many people want to know how to better spend their time, how do we fit all this work, family time, exercise and more into 24 hours? Society has placed unrealistic demands on parents, and the working parent hasn't got a prayer in the world! Everyone is striving to be number 1, they have to have a big house with a great yard, a great big SUV, a pool, a vacation house, jewelry, everyone of the children needs to be in every sport available and you know...they have to keep up with the Jones's.

Now don't get me wrong...if this is what makes you happy, go for it. I am really just going to try and help you to de-stress your life!!! Yup, that's right. I have 3 children myself, I was a working Mom, but now, I'm a Keen Mom ; ) My husband he is at work in his sleep I think...yeah, if he could figure out a way to be on his computer while sleeping, he would!!!

So here are some tricks I myself use. Don't sleep...hahaha, I am just joking! And remember folks, I can give you some ideas on things that worked for me, I can not give you all the solutions, but I can try and help.

1. Drink more water. Before your first cup of coffee in the morning drink one glass of water.

2. Give your children more chores. They are only sitting around watching t.v. or playing video games anyway! Your kids no matter what age, like chores and the younger you start them off, the easier it will be as they get older. They can get their backpacks ready for school, they can pick out their own snacks and put them in their snack bags. They can make their own beds. This also helps teach them responsibility.

3. Assign every person a coat hook, or a place in the closet for their belongings. I even went so far as to buy a shoe rack with cubby holes in it. It works! Also put a basket for each child (or one if you don't have the room like me) in the closet for hats, scarves, mittens...etc. This helps eliminate picking up these items and they are easy to find when needed ; )

4. Take the stairs when you need a little boost of energy, it will get your heart pumping!!! Besides that elevators are stuffy. Oh you're on the fiftieth floor? Well take the elevator up to floor 48 and then the stairs ; )

5. Disposable all purpose wipes. They are great for the in-between cleanings and they smell great. They are also good because they kill all those little germies! One in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. Dryer sheets...they are great for picking up dust on the television, shelves and such.

6. TAKE A BATH!!! The ultimate form of relaxation would be a massage, but a bath with epsom salts would do. It helps release your muscles.

7. Take at least 5 minutes out of the day to meditate...turn the t.v. off and just do it!

8. Laundry, well, the only way I can make the laundry in a house with 5 people in it easier is to hide it! LOL Actually everyone has their own basket, when it's full, I do it, fold it and put it away. This saves time from sorting everyones socks! What a mess that was.

9. Here's a biggie...if you can, plan your meals. When you plan them, it's easier to get them done. Even making your own frozen dinners is a great way to save time. I haven't attempted this yet, but planning them has made my life easier.

10. Breathe!!!!!!!! Take a minute before cooking, doing dinner or working and take some deep cleansing breaths before starting. It works.

11. This is the last one I will throw upon you and it's a deep subject......Downsize, seriously, if you don't use every room in a house then what is it good for except collecting dust and storing items you should throw out anyway. Living large and being able to afford it is one thing. However, lots of people are living beyond their means because they are keeping up with the Jones's. As I said, it's up to you and I will not judge you if that is how you want to live, but your hurting yourself financially and physically. If you don't need it and can't afford it, get rid of it. Life can be simple it's all about how you chose to live it.

Stop worrying about what other people think of you. It doesn't really matter, we are all human and we all deserve respect. If there is a job out there that needs to be done, then it should be done right and with dignity. I know I have said that before, but it warrants being said again.

I hope no one thinks I am being judgmental, I am not trying to be. I respect people from all walks of life. I strive to be a better person everyday. I believe in what goes around comes around.

Live your life the way you see fit, but remember to live it well and living well is not measured by the stuff that you accumulate during your lifetime, it is measured by what you do in the time you are here. Children are a precious gift, they require hugs, kisses and lots of love and the occasion piece of chocolate! Seriously, if you do one thing in life, love yourself, cherish your family and children and live life as there is no tomorrow.

Have a BEAUTIFUL DAY and Smile at someone, maybe it will brighten their day!

Angela this was brilliant and all the things I have done myself in my time, one thing I would add if I may is use frozen veg and ready prepared sauces etc.  There is nothing wrong with it, it saves time, and money because you don't have to buy separate spices etc, and a lot of the cooks are now using them, and if you have a house full of people get up a half hour earlier so you can start your day gently.  Blessings.

Trinity~

Thanks for the info. It is great to hear about how others can save time and energy as well : )

The sauce situation, I have that one covered! LOL My Mom and Mother-in-law make sauce and give me containers full!!! I pop them in the freezer and take them out when needed. I'm a lucky girl that way ; )

However, you are right about the prepared sauces, they are better than ever now. I always have a jar or two on hand as well.

Thanks for your comment! Have a wonderful day!

Blessings~
