Interview with a Psychic

Interview With A Psychic
Most people approach psychics cautiously. In Ghost Whoopi Goldberg won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Oda May Brown, who faked her way through séances until Sam (Patrick Swayze) activated her gift. He unblocked her sixth sense and, as she used it, she overcame her disbelief.

Belinda Bentley suffers from the same doubts as Oda May Brown, though she never faked a reading. Still, she wonders, Am I really hearing this?

Her accuracy proves that she is a conduit between this life and the next. Her voices are genuine. Like the reformed Oda May Brown, she pushes her personal interpretations out of the picture and tells her clients exactly what she sees and hears. Last June, her séance had a profound effect on Kathy Gargalikis.

Gargalikis, a middle-aged Permit Technician for the City of Brentwood, told me that her mother and she have been visiting psychic fairs since her brother died four years ago. When her father also died recently, their desire for contact increased.

The day of Bentleys séance, Gargalikis and her mother visited the Lafayette cemetery where both her brother and father are buried. At the graves she said, "We are going to the psychic fair in Walnut Creek today. Maybe you can come through to us at the séance."

Later that morning at Walnut Creek Civic Park, Gargalikis and her mother sat in the front row of Bentleys séance and heard her say, "Close your eyes and think about who you would like to hear from."

When they opened their eyes Bentley moved in front of Gargalikis and said, "I have a Jerald here. Is there anyone here who knows a Jerald who has passed over?"

Gargalikis raised her hand.

"Is he older than you?" Bentley asked.

"Yes."

"Is he your father?"

"No."

"I have your father here. Is Jerald your brother?" <P>

Gargalikis started to cry. <P>

"Jerald and your father are both very excited to be here. Jerald has a lot to say. He’s missed talking to you lately." <P>

Gargalikis understood why. She had been so preoccupied with her father’s demise and her husband’s surgery that she had stopped talking to Jerald in the last few months. <P>

Bentley went on channeling. "He says everything is going to be all right and your husband will get better. He wants you to stop crying."<P>

Bentley continued with a message about Gargalikiss niece. "Talk to her," Jerald said through Bentley. "I want to help her, but she’s not listening. She’s not open like you, and she could lose her marriage." <P>

At the end of the séance, Bentley added, "Jerald’s father is standing behind him". This type of thing used to be hard for him to believe." <P>

Gargalikiss mother agreed. "I understand that because he tried very hard to believe in life after life." Bentley smiled. "Well he believes now." <P>
