Insights Come From the Strangest Places....
Last night I worked late online here at the wonderful world of Keen.com and it was still so hot and humid I decided to cruise a little "late night" TV.
I could find nothing to suit my tastes.
There were no reruns of Law and Order (any version) on, and there were no "True Crime" shows on......I'm totally into forensic psychology.
I didn't feel like popping in a movie from Netflix, didn't want to stay up that much later.
I checked out the X-Files episode that was on, and it was one absent Mulder, I don't like those episodes and I paused, briefly, on an episode of "Roseanne" that I had never seen.
Evidently, Darlene had given birth to a premature baby. I used to watch Roseanne every Tuesday night back in the early nineties after my kids went to bed, so I checked it out for a few minutes.
I noticed the girl who played the substitute Becky is the same girl who plays on Scrubs now.
The episode was pretty boring, too sappy for me, but just as I was about to switch stations Roseanne says to this little premature baby...
"We're Not Bodies with Souls....
...We Are Souls With Bodies."
I thought that line was truly insightful, and it's been on my mind all day.
Think about it.
Our Souls will go on long after these physical vessels decay. Our Souls were here long before the zygote that created this vessel split into more cells.
Are we here to fuss and fight and worry our lives away?
No, but that's what many of us are doing. Enjoy life. Seek to see the Soul.
Try to see the soul that is possessing the body next to you right now rather than the body itself.
Even when we look at those we don't particularly care for, try to see the essence of the soul.
It does make a difference.
Peace!
