Red Tape, Red Tape, Red Tape, Miles and Miles of Red Tape

Don't you hate completing government forms and their applications processes?

I'll be late in logging in today as I have to complete my eldest son's FAFSA among other things that I loathe to do.  After four years of completing this form, you think I'd learn to get it out of the way earlier in the year, but noooooooo..............

This year he needs it completed even sooner as it has to go to all of the Law Schools he's applied to, and since he is already receiving his acceptance letters I feel like one "mother procrastinator" as he can't choose his school until we see the financial implications produced by the FAFSA.

So.....If you need me today please place a lengthy wait time for an Arranged Call, can't tell you exactly when I will be on, but I will be on.

For those of you who do not have children of college age yet and may not have gone through this process yourselves, the FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and it will calculate government grants and loans for your child based on your annual household income etc.  If your child is a high school senior you should be completing one yourself in order to calculate next year's expenses.  If you need more information on it search the web and pull up the dot gov site, that is the official one.  Don't get hoodwinked into one of those sites that charges you money, this is a totally free process.

It really is a blessing as I don't know how I would have educated these kids without it.  Justin had a significant scholarship to his undergrad university, he earned that on academic merit, the grants he received covered the bulk of the balance, now we are waiting to see what Law School will work out like.

Due March 1st and here it is 2/27 and I am just starting it.  Of course Justin didn't TELL ME it was due March 1st until Sunday the 24th.....February is just way too short, even with the extra day!

So......see you later alligators!
