Thyme In a Bottle
Thyme in a Bottle
Do you remember the old Jim Croce song, Time in a Bottle?
There was a time in my relationship when time was very hard to come by, extremely hard to find any time whatsoever to spend with each other, and it was probably one of the reasons that our passions peaked.
I am a hopeless romantic, so on a Sunday afternoon when we both could steal away, I brought my Jim Croce CD along with us when we went out for an afternoon (this had to be at least eight years ago).
I picked up a very pretty little bottle, the color of a Coca Cola bottle, with a cork stopper in it, and I filled it with fresh thyme.
As we were driving through the Pocono Mountains and enjoying the music and our day together, the song “Time in a Bottle” came on and we began to sing it to each other…
As we sang, I took the little bottle of thyme out of my pocket and handed it to Frank and I told him that he could always have “some of my thyme” with him wherever he went. You know, he still has that Thyme in a Bottle on his dresser here in the home we now share! (He’s a male Cancer, so he is very sentimental).
Anyway, it was more than just giving him a romantic token when I gave him that little enchanted bottle, it was Magick!
Thyme, as an herb, possesses the magickal properties of causing positive vibration between two spirits, and the energy created by the herb, when properly charged, leads to positive actions. Thyme will also help to protect you from the negativity of others and will provide you, and the person you are enchanting or influencing magickally with courage and cleansing.
Thyme was used in medieval times to show a young maiden her true love.
It was part of the classic love spell sung about by Simon and Garfunkel in the song Scarborough Fair, as Parsley provides comfort, Sage provides strength, Rosemary is for love and Thyme is for courage. Who wouldn’t want to cast a love spell like that?
So, if you and your love are finding it hard to make time to be together, perhaps you may want to try my little “Thyme in a Bottle” spell in order to cause both of you to take the positive actions necessary to resolving the issue.
It worked for us, and he never even knew I was working an enchantment.
You have to ritually charge the herb before you give it to your love, but other than that, it is pretty simple!

Time in a Bottle
By Jim Croce
If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
Till Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
A Simple Spell to Protect Against Slander and Gossip
Magick is NOT Magic!

Scarborough Fair
by Simon and Garfunkel
Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine.
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt (On the side of a hill in the deep forest green).
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (Tracing a sparrow on snow-crested ground).
Without no seams nor needlework (Blankets and bedclothes the child of the mountain).
Then she'll be a true love of mine (Sleeps unaware of the clarion call).
Tell her to find me an acre of land (On the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves).
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (Washes the grave with silvery tears).
Between the salt water and the sea strands (A soldier cleans and polishes a gun).
Then she'll be a true love of mine.
Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather (War bellows, blazing in scarlet battalions).
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (Generals order their soldiers to kill).
And gather it all in a bunch of heather (And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten).
Then she'll be a true love of mine.
Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine.
