HONEY JAR MAGIC SPELL

To Sweeten Your Relationship

In my continuing series on FREE SPELLS, The Honey Jar Spell may be one of the oldest and most widely known “love spells” in American Culture. 

There are many variations on the spell, you may find versions in many different magickal sects, VooDoo, Wiccan, Folk Magick, etc.

In the simplest version, a jar is not even required, just a plain white saucer in which you burn a red candle on the person's name, surrounded by a poured-out ring of honey. 

Another Kitchen Magick Spell employs a red apple or red onion to hold the honey and the name. The apple or onion may be shut up in a tin and a candle burned on the tin's lid or it is placed in the bottom of a flower pot, or in a flower garden, with a flower grown on top of it to hide the spell. The flower takes the place of candle, but it radiates the intent of the spell just the same.

Basic Honey Jar Spell

This Magick Spell is great to work on a lover you have recently had a quarrel with or a friend that you would wish to turn into a lover, it is simple and easy to understand.  It is also useful in restoring a platonic friendship, in which case you will use a light blue candle rather than red.

When running a Love Spell, you will use a Red Candle and Rose oil to dress it with, this spell will cause your intended to favor your petition, to want to be with you, to be sympathetic to your cause, or to forgive any wrongs you have committed. It can be used to reconcile with a lover very effectively.  It helps to eliminate negativity from foolish quarrels.

Supplies:

Honey

Jar with Metal Lid

Paper with Love’s Name Written On It Three Times, one after the other like this:

Then you rotate the paper 90 degrees and write your own name across the person's name, also three times:

            John Smith

            John Smith

            John Smith

The result will be that the two names are crossed over each other, like a cross or a tic-tac-toe grid, and the other person's name will be under yours. This is called crossing and covering their name. If the sweetening is being done for love, you can use a red ink pen. Otherwise, the color of the ink does not matter.

Around the crossed names, write your specific wish in a circle without lifting your pen from the paper!  Write the words in one long continuous motion and be sure to join up the end of the last word with the beginning of the first word so the circle is complete.

Items of Significance Between You (photos, personal effects of lover, strand of hair, etc.)

Red Candle and Rose Oil or other “Love Oil” (Return to me, etc.) to dress candle from outside in (coat candle from ends to middle with the oil)

Get a small jar of honey, if you do not have honey you can substitute any sweet, syrupy product like pancake syrup, etc.  You will need a jar with a metal lid as well. You will fill the jar to the shoulder with the honey.

If you have any small personal effects (hair, nails) of the person put them on the paper, you may also add two rose petals.  Fold the paper toward you to bring what you want your way and speak aloud your wish as you do so. Turn the paper and fold it again, and again, always folding toward you, to bring what you want your way. Speak aloud your wish each time you fold the paper toward you. Fold it until it will not fold any more.

Open the jar of honey or syrup. Take out a spoon's worth, and as you eat it, say, "As this honey [or syrup] is sweet to me, so will I become sweet to (name of the person you are working on)."  You do this three times. Push the folded paper packet down into the jar and close up the lid.

Dress your candle with the oil, from the ends to the middle.  You can use a white candle for healing, a red candle for passion, a pink candle for reconciliation, if you wish, but I prefer to use a red candle for love, regardless of situation.  Stand the candle on the lid of the sealed jar and light it.  Melt the candle to the lid with hot wax to secure.

The candle needs to burn all the way out. Repeat each day until your lover returns, it may take some time, so be patient, but it will work if you are meant to be together.
