RECESSION & DEPRESSION LESSONS

What is the lessons we should learn or try to understand that had lead us to this recession.  It is a depression in some areas of the country, I'm sure.  Why has these hardships come upon us?  Some people are dying and so I take this recession/depression very seriously.

At a time when life in America is beginning to resemble a roller-coaster ride and everyone is trying to find ways to save money.  I wonder how people managed to live during the great depression.

Back then there was little money for food or luxuries but people found creative ways of coping.  Backyard gardens were cultivated not because of a sudden itch to eat locally grown produce, but out of necessity; homeowners did their own repairs and found ingenious ways to make their homes functional and attractive by doing most of the work themselves.

I've often heard it said during the great depression that the old timers said ... save.  They lost trust in the stocks and felt content to put what little they had in savings.  Savings, many of them kept in their own home because they did not trust the banks.

As a psychic, I let my mind go back in time to feel the energy of the people during the great depression.  I feel their anger and frustration with the government, the bureaucracy, the banks, the stock market and the people felt betrayed all the way around.  I sense their frustration and disappointment.

We have got to stop giving the poor people the shaft.  I see the poor in the past during the great depression, hovering around wooden stoves and fire places.  I see them growing vegetables and poor farmers raising chickens.  I see people suffering in body and spirit.

Some families could not afford to throw anything away.  Some families would take left over scraps like chicken feet and made soup.  Some families would take chicken gizzards and made a main course.  Some families would take chicken feathers and fluff their mattresses.

How can you make the economy grow when people can't afford to buy the products the companies were trying to sell.  Well what the government decided to do was to give the population credit.  It was their belief that by wisely using credit, it would fuel the economy.

Well, as we all know now, building an economic boom off borrowed money only leads towards a debt ridden society.

It is my belief that a government must fuel a healthy economy by providing services to the people.  Therefore the economy grows out of it's prosperity and not it's debt.  The government should offer free services to the general public like free education and free college course.  The government should offer free healthcare services.  Free assistance to the disabled and the desperate.

As the government offers free services to the general public, it builds a strong economy based on it's wealth and not a debt ridden society that burdens the masses.

Are we destined to keep repeating the past due to evil men and their actions.  We probably are going to fall into other recessions and depressions, in the future, as a result of greed and corruption, as punishment for the sins of the wicked.  We must find a way to create a better world for ourselves and the less fortunate.  It all boils down to just and fair laws.  Fair regulation not unfair de-regulation.

Somehow we manage to make it through difficult times and even have good times to reflect on as well.  Some of my happiest memories were working in my father's garden.  We would pack a big family picnic and make a whole day out of working in the garden.  My favorite food from the garden:  green onions, hot pickled peppers, corn, tomatoes, cabbage ... I guess I liked just about everything we grew.

Still, my mind and spirit wanders back to the question:  What is the lesson that we are to learn from hard times being visited upon us?

Every American must rise towards caring not only for himself but also for his less fortunate neighbor.  By creating a compassionate and intelligent system, in saving our neighbor, we save ourselves.  We must realize that we all suffer the same and in protecting your neighbor, you also protect yourelf.

I am reminded of Pastor Niemoeller - victim of Hitler's Nazis in which he states:

FIRST THEY CAME FOR THE JEWS, AND I DID NOT SPEAK OUT

BECAUSE I WAS NOT A JEW.

THEN THEY CAME FOR THE COMMUNISTS, AND I DID NOT SPEAK OUT

BECAUSE I WAS NOT A COMMUNIST.

THEN THEY CAME FOR THE HOMOSEXUALS, AND I DID NOT SPEAK OUT

BECAUSE I WAS NOT A HOMOSEXUAL.

THEN THEY CAME FOR THE TRADE UNIONISTS, AND I DID NOT SPEAK OUT

BECAUSE I WAS NOT A TRADE UNIONIST.

THEN THEY CAME FOR ME AND THERE WAS NO ONE LEFT TO SPEAK OUT FOR ME.

Americans must become super heroes of justice in demanding laws that are good for society and good for the less fortunate.  Fair and balanced.  Big business is no longer allowed to take advantage of the masses.  Regulatory laws must be put in place to protect the general public and the integrity of ethical business practices.

Crime and Punishment in the Bible

The bible warns of actions and consequences.  If you don't play with fire, you won't have to worry about getting burned.  Allowing deregulation of business and banking has created chaos in our economic system.

Banks are creating equations that are destined to fail and destroying economic stability as we know it.  Stock brokerage firms are taking advantage of public trust by selling stocks that are destined to be worthless in the future and not informing the public when they sell them these worthless stocks.

If companies are innocent they need not fear fair regulatory laws.  It is only the criminal that does not want fair regulatory laws because it makes it harder for him to get away with unethical behavior against the public's trust.

President Obama said some companies are too big to fail.  I don't believe it.  If they are big enough to be corrupt and if they are big enough to practice unethical and fraudulent conspiracies, I say they are destined to fail no matter how big they are and there will be a public revolt upon any arm of government that attempts to protect them.  Corrupt companies should fail that is the natural selection of survival of the fittest.

One lesson, I feel we should learn from this recession/depression is that we can't afford to be selfish and think only of ourselves.  We must demand that the government pass laws that protect the general public ... we must protect our mothers, fathers, elderly and the mentally ill.  We can't afford to let any aspect of society be taken over by greed or corrupt because eventually ... they will come for us ... eventually we will all sink or swim together.

 In the Book of Exodus

Moses negotiating the Exodus from Egypt with Pharaoh leading up to the Ten plagues: First Pharaoh enslaves the Children of Israel: "[The Egyptians] appointed conscription officers over [the Israelites] to crush their spirits with hard labor.

All the work they made them do was intended to break them." (Exodus 1:11-14, then he issues decrees to kill all the Israelite males (Exodus 1:15-16) (Moses is saved by his mother putting him into an ark of bulrushes), and after first being the option of freely letting the Israelite slaves go, God hardens Pharaoh's heart, so that Pharaoh does not agree to let the Hebrews leave, then God sends various disasters onto the whole of Egypt, the cycle ends with the story of the killing of every firstborn child in Egypt as the final punishment for having afflicted the Israelites with deathly punishments. (Exodus 6-14).   The King then dies due to such an evil execution upon the innocent victims.

In this we see how laws can literally lead to the death of those who seek to take advantage of the system.

Hard times are visited upon us due to sin against mankind and sin against God.  We all suffer as a whole.  One act of abuse causes the whole society to suffer.  Just like one rotten apple in a barrel ... soon the whole barrel is full of rotten apples.

Although we may not be the ones who committed the sins, the whole suffers because we are in a sinful and corrupt world.  The worse that corruption gets, it spoils everything.

Economists' joke: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job; a depression is when you lose your job.

We must care that most Americans have a safe and fair work environment and earn enough money working at a decent job.  By caring for our neighbor ... we care for ourselves.

Wrestling in a recession or depression is like grabbing a tiger by the tail, your in a fight rather you want it or not.

Although many people are fearful of the health care reform.  We need the circulating of capital and the creation of jobs nationally.  America is still bleeding jobs and it will take years to fix it.  Creating jobs out of our wealth is the only safe way to create a healthy economy and not a debt ridden society.

It seems to me that one definition--one that would give a more realistic picture of the business cycle--would be that a recession (or depression) ends when GDP returns to (or near) its trend line.  The problem is keeping it stable so we don't keep falling into a recession or depression every few years.  This is why we need to control regulations.  We need fair, balanced laws that will not play havoc with the economy.  A recession or depression is honestly a failure of capitalism.  All things in moderation ... capitalism, regulations, balanced and fair trade.

I ask my angel guides, what is the answer to the riddle of a balanced economy in the US?  Money is the root of all evil.  Greed is a strong powerful force in America.  Karma will have it's revenge on corporate America

The answer:  Pray for America, that we develop a fair, balanced and good system.  Pray that America never runs out of brave, wise, good men and women who are not afraid to create a just and fair society.  As we pray, our angels work behind the scenes in changing and creating a better America.

A place for the rich, the poor and most importantly of all ... justice.

We need good men and women who won't sell out to the rich and powerful.  We need heroes ... we all must become American heroes, voting for laws that are not only good for us but also good for the poor, the old and those less fortunate and good for our society.  In protecting the less fortunate ... we also protect ... ourselves and those in our own family.  Reshaping America begins by sharing compassion for each other, turning negative karmic energy into positive karmic energy.

We can now see what greed and corruption does to a country ... it destroys it's economic foundation.   Too much money taken out of America and not enough put into it has created chaos in America's economy.
