Where should I be and what should I be doing? Using your values as an internal compass can help you to create a life that you can truly value! It will bring you closer to happiness and satisfaction if you do. The impact of your core values can be huge and life changing and can really help you define what you truly need in your life to be happy. I will also give you some practical ways to start to tap into your true core values for yourself.

When we look out at the world, often we assume that everyone is viewing events and feeling the same as we do about them.
Recognize your own values and live the life you really want.
Understanding and working on your values helps people re-orient themselves around what they really want, not what others think they should do.
So what are these elusive values anyway?
They are the essence of you; your personal truths. An outline of your personal beliefs about the world at large and how you want to co-exist within it. How you can live within the world, co-exist and still be happy!
Learning to lean upon a power that is greater than your own will put you in a prime position for a great blessing. I would highly recommend that you say this as an affirmation, mantra, prayer and say it daily and you will see your life changing, altering for the better:
Create Within Me A Clean Heart And A Right Spirit
A Spiritual Request To A Loving God
Create a clean heart in me, O God, and renew a faithful spirit within me. Do not force me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore the joy of your salvation to me, and provide me with a spirit of willing obedience. Then I will teach your ways to those who are rebellious, and sinners will return to you.
Rescue me from the guilt of murder, O God, my savior. Let my tongue sing joyfully about your righteousness! O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will tell about your praise.
You are not happy with any sacrifice. Otherwise, I would offer one to you. You are not pleased with burnt offerings. The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. O God, you do not despise a broken and sorrowful heart.
Favor Zion with your goodness. Rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit- with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings. Young bulls will be offered on your altar.
Submitting to a higher authority. Aligning your values up with a higher authority will grant you the ability to use the power of God in your own life. Try this affirmation, prayer, mantra and see if it does not change your life for the better.
Your values operate as an internal compass for you to make decisions. So when faced with a choice you can ask yourself: Does this really fit with my values? Believe me, once you really find your true core values, it becomes blindingly obvious whether you are living in line with them or not. Thus, you are able to be true to yourself and your beliefs! Here are a few ideas to help you find your personal truths:
Peak Experience:
Think of a time in your life when you were completely happy, a ‘peak' experience where you felt in flow and everything was right. Now let yourself write freely what you loved about it. Let yourself really feel it! Now look for the value underneath that made you shine.
Things That Make You Crazy:
Think of a situation or event where you felt as though you could just go crazy, something that made you frustrated or upset! What was pushing your buttons? What was it about that circumstance or what someone did that you fundamentally disagreed with? Let yourself really rant! Now look for the value underneath that which is being trodden on.
What You Couldn't Live Without:
What couldn't you live without in your life? What would you hold on to at all costs? It could be an experience or an object or an action, hope or dream? What about it is so important to you? Express the value of what it adds to your life.
Honing and Refining Your Values:
No one knows you quite like you! You will figure yourself out and you will learn to make better choices which bring a greater sense of happiness and satisfaction into your life. You will learn to write your own description of success. You will create the laughter, joy, passion and happiness that you desire in your life!
Make Choices and Decisions That Align With Your Values
You now know that when you are faced with a decision to make in your life, you can go back to these values and ask yourself if this choice is in line with or against your values. Will it satisfy you or not? It also gives you a place of strength to stand up for what you want and believe in when others think they know what's best for you. When you speak from your values it is pretty powerful! You have awakened to your higher self.
Finally, I want to acknowledge that living by your values is a courageous act. In some ways it is so much easier to keep going along with the crowd and what others want or to just try to fit in and be ‘normal' and the same as everyone else. However, what I absolutely know is that by living in line with your true core values ... you will have a whole lot more happiness and fun in your life.
