How to find an Ethical Psychic?
Hi folks!
Continuing on my theme from my last post (
the Alarmist Psychic), I'd like to give all you potential clients out there an idea of what to look for in an Ethical Psychic. The skeptic may say that I'm fishing for customers here, but that's not my primary goal. I've been taken in by people who are unethical in their practices as professional psychics and it's brought me a good deal of heartache. I'd like to help y'all avoid that experience, if I can. It's just no fun and leaves you feeling like a fool at the end, trust me.
That said, here are three signs that the psychic you have chosen to work with is an Ethical Psychic.
1.) No leading questions are asked during the reading.A leading question is a question which contains the answer or information that the questioner is looking for. An example of this from the legal setting would be a witness being asked "You were at Bob's house on the night of the 15th, weren't you?" In the setting of a psychic reading, the question may not reference a specific date or a specific person. It would instead sound like, "You were at a friend's house recently, yes?" When you answer the question as expected, this then allows the unethical psychic to continue to manipulate the situation, though you are left with the false impression that is not happening.
2.) No 'loaded' questions are asked during the reading.A 'loaded' question is a question that presupposes something. Two classic examples are
"Are you still beating your wife?" and "Will you be a good buddy and loan me a few bucks?" The first assumes that the subject has a wife and has beaten her in the past. The second asks two questions at once, with the first expected to receive a positive answer that can be assumed to apply to the second question. These kinds of questions are deceptive and assume information that may not be accurate. These questions can be answered in a fashion that puts the burden of proof back on to the questioner's shoulders. This is generally rephrasing the question and placing it into context. In the case of the first question, the answer, "How could I be beating a wife I never had?"
3.) They don't use scare tactics. This is rarely in the form of blatant threats to the safety and physical or emotional well-being of a client in the setting of a psychic reading. Instead, threats directly made or implied to the spiritual well being of the client may occur in a reading with an unethical psychic. As ChangingMinds.org says on their
website, "X is presented. It causes fear. Therefore Y (which has some relationship to X) is true."
