Listening to Messages from Spirit
I’m really excited that so many of you have started to explore your intuitive abilities. It’s truly rewarding to watch you grow and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges around you. A few of you have expressed frustration regarding the accuracy of your own readings, so I decided to address some of the many questions I’ve received over the past few weeks in this blog.
Sometimes Spirit tries to communicate messages, but we don’t listen. I’ve noticed that many of you are finding the answers in your readings, but instead filter them out and only see what you want to see. Many times the answer is right in front of you and the ego jumps right in and says, “yes but…” sending you in a downward spiral of negative self talk.
One important lesson in reading yourself is learning to separate your own ego from your higher self. This may sound impossible, but it can be achieved in time. I’m currently in the middle of reading “Soul Psychology” by Dr. Joshua David Stone and in his book he discusses the voice of the ego and the voice of Spirit. Your ego is similar to a bully and it’s time to stop allowing it to push you around. For those of you in painful relationships, ask yourself what is keeping you from walking away. If your answer is, “If I leave, he will be with her” or “If I leave, I will be alone”…it’s time to identify the source and take back your power. I’ve said this before and I will say it again, we can’t change or control the behavior of others; but, we can change our reaction, which will cause change all around us. The first part of changing ourselves is releasing attachment. We are trying to control a situation when we stay attached to a specific outcome. Some situations are not meant to be and life flows so much easier when we achieve a level of acceptance no matter what the outcome.
When you experience fear, pessimism, attachment, dependency, anger, depression, powerlessness, guilt, bad moods, competitive feelings, jealousy, judgment, insecurity or the feeling of being a victim (to name a few), it’s a sign that your negative ego is running your life.
Whether the lesson involves leaving a job or leaving a relationship, you will not know what is waiting unless you first let go. There is an old saying that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. It’s up to you to take that step into the unknown and trust that you are safe, protected & divinely guided. Soren Kierkegaard, a famous philosopher, emphasized that we have a choice and in choosing, we define ourselves. Do you want to stay stuck in a situation or take that first step of empowerment? The choice is yours.
Three years ago I went through an incredibly painful relationship that affected me deeply. As much as I was convinced we were destined to be together, I learned that it could not be in this lifetime or maybe ever. I chose to walk away which wasn’t easy. However through that pain I grew tremendously & I am thankful for the experience because I would not be who I am today had it not been for this individual. Part of evolving on your spiritual path involves forgiveness and gratitude. When Spirit sends a life lesson to you, it’s important to welcome it, see it as an opportunity to grow, and then deal with it appropriately.
Remember your higher self wants what is best for you, so try to seek what is for your highest good. If you are reading cards and one card doesn’t make sense, pull out a second deck and do a spread on that one card to gain more insight. Try to journal your readings, because even though it makes no sense now, it might make sense later. Sometimes the cards will deceive you. When asking a question, remember to call on your angels and guides to assist in bringing the most accurate information.
It is my firm belief that everyone is intuitive. The challenge is learning to trust and open ourselves to messages from Spirit. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Peace & Happiness,
