Paying Attention to the Signs
Have you ever looked back at an
experience with regret? Maybe you knew the signs were all around yet you chose
to ignore the obvious?
Often times we’re
left realizing the accuracy of the still small voice inside our heads, if only
we had paid attention.
Sometimes the
signs can be so subtle. Other times it may seem very similar to an Aircraft
Marshaller with a safety vest and illuminated beacons, leading an aircraft
safely to its parking stand.
Sometimes
we really need those illuminated beacons to help us find our way!
There are many different types of
signs such as animal totems, numbers, dreams, physical ailments & repeating
events in our lives, just to name a few.
If we pay attention, these signs can act as messengers that guide us on
our spiritual path.
Did you ever stop and wonder why
it was you couldn’t find your keys?
Maybe you were in a hurry, already running late and suddenly your keys just
disappeared. Maybe there was a guardian
angel looking out for you…possibly by losing your keys and running late, you
missed a major car accident. I’ve heard
a few stories similar to that one & I always get goose bumps.
What about that cough or sore
throat? What part of your life are you
not able to express yourself or possibly don’t feel as though you are being
heard? Maybe it’s a stomach problem…are
you giving away your personal power in some area of your life? Perhaps you keep seeing birds every place you
go….birds can be a sign of soaring to new heights or possibly needing to remove
yourself from a situation in order to gain perspective.
Signs can also reflect our
beliefs. In Denise Linn’s book, “The
Secret Language of Signs,” she says that everything around us, our situations
& experiences are filled with signs.
Some signs can reflect our focus and others can bring messages of the
future.
We really only know a fraction of
what our body knows. Now that is an
interesting thought! Recently I went to a holistic practitioner who used muscle
testing to determine the cause behind certain ailments. I had what felt like a cold and he asked me
to put my arm straight out to the side, while he asked a series of
questions. I was supposed to resist him
as he tried to push my arm down. When
asking questions that had a “no” response, I didn’t have any problem
resisting, but when asking my body questions that had a “yes”’ response, my
arm became so weak I was unable to resist…and believe me I tried! Through the testing he was able to determine
I had a bacterial infection, which required certain vitamins to be taken twice
a day for 2 weeks. The vitamins helped flush the infection out of my system, so
I actually felt as though I was getting worse before I started feeling
better. I was absolutely in shock, but I
have to say that his approach worked and in two weeks I was fine.
What is your body or environment
trying to tell you? Maybe you had a
dream about a spider. This can represent
creative forces in the universe or a web of illusion; it can also be a sign of
situation where you feel trapped.
When you start to pay attention,
signs can be a very fascinating, useful tool, and awareness is the key to
unlocking some of the mysteries of life!
