The Metaphysical Edge ... Where All Realities Meet

FEEDBACK AND THE LVS -- A Reader's Perspective

Why is it so important for a caller to leave feedback?  Is it merely to stroke the ego of the reader? Or to attract more new clients?

Well ... in some instances, it may very well be ... everyone likes to hear good things about themselves and that in itself is not a bad thing.  Also, most new customers are attracted  first by a reader's listing, then .. they see the feedback. So .. feedback helps a reader attract new customers.

A little known fact that callers may not comprehend is that ... Keen initiated something called an LVS back in March last year which is a .. "value scoring" system.  This LVS takes a lot of things into consideration - and helps readers to improve their listings, and their service to all Keen callers.  This is the good thing.

The tough part is ... the LVS takes the ratio of calls to feedback and computes a price that readers must pay as a 'bid' to have their listings ranked somewhere in the listings.  The higher a reader's LVS the lower the reader pays to bid for qualified clicks.

This is one very important reason why readers seem to be asking a lot for positive feedback. It is vitally important on a lot of levels.

Let's put it this way ... if you are on a call with a reader and you are getting such a good reading that you recharge your minutes once or twice to allow the reader to complete an indepth reading .... but .. once the reading is over .... poof !  You are satisfied with your reading and go on your merry way.  This is wonderful, but ... one step has been left out.  Feedback.

All a caller needs to do is stay on the line after the reader hangs up .. you don't need to be at a computer to leave feedback.  If the reading was superb, leave 5 stars. Be honest.  Any feedback is better than none.  And readers truly appreciate the honesty.  (not going to address the 'basher' topic here, which has certainly gotten enough press, I think ~smile~ )

If a caller does have access to a computer, all they need to do is go to the lower left hand side of their 'My Account" page and click "Leave Feedback" and all the calls they have made to any reader which has not been left feedback  will be available there for them to do so.  A caller can leave  both 'stars' and written feedback from there.

Readers pay a high premium to work on Keen (about 47-48% of the calls' earnings), plus we pay a 'click' fee per qualified click every time our listings get clicked.  If that 'click' (or bid) fee is high, it is conceivably possible for the reader to pay more for the "click" to get the call than they actually make on the call, particularly if the call is of short duration.

None of the above is meant as a complaint .. not at all.  Rather, it is meant to explain the importance of leaving feedback for every call a caller makes to any reader -- good, bad, indifferent.  In order for the LVS system to work properly, all aspects of it must be in effect .. and this means .... Callers .. Please Leave Feedback ~smile~

Sending love all around .. and of course, comments always welcome

Warmly

I am happy to leave feedback, and I do under most circumstances, BUT.... I have to wait to see how things pan out before I can rate.  I am sure a lot of people do that.  That could be why it seems people "go on their merry way" after a call - waiting it out first :)

Hello Nova .. yes, I believe that some folks may do precisely that; however most callers it seems leave feedback right after the call, especially when a reader is spot on with information given.  I've also noticed that works both ways, in the case where the reader may be 'off' on a point or two.  I think it is a matter of preference.

This post, however, is mainly to explain the reason "WHY" readers get so concerned about  feedback and lack thereof -- how it can impact a reader's business, particularly if Keen is their full time job.  There's been an awful lot of negative publicity about it .. but no explanations, it seems to me, as to why feedback is so important.  Hence ... I'm posting this from a different perspective.

Warmly

What is a "qualified click"? If I'm just browsing and reading the different profiles, when I click on a profile, does the reader get charged even if I didn't call that reader or request an e-mail reading? Also, if I click on a reader's blog, does the reader get charged? I hope not because that really wouldn't be fair to the readers.

Hi Kay ...  A qualified click means that the person clicking on the listing has a valid credit card listed with the service and would be able to complete a call to the reader, if they so chose.  However, a reader is only charged for one qualified click per person in a 24 hour period so if you clicked on a reader who interested you and went back later and clicked on their listing again that same day, they would only be charged once.

Clicking on a reader's blog doesn't get charged to the reader.  A reader is only charged for qualified clicks on their listings.  To keep things fair, Keen does not charge a reader if they click their own listing and if another reader clicks on it.  We only get charged for qualified caller clicks, whether the party calls us or not.

Hope this answers your question.  And, thank you, Kay, for your comment.

Warmly
