FREEDOM TO USE ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE IN JEOPARDY - ACT NOW
Health freedom action alert: FDA attempting to regulate supplements, herbs and juices as "drugs." A new FDA "guidance" document, published on the FDA's website, reveals plans to reclassify virtually all vitamins, supplements, herbs and even vegetable juices as FDA-regulated drugs. Massage oils and massage rocks will be classified as "medical devices" and require FDA approval. The document is called Docket No. 2006D-0480. Draft Guidance for Industry on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and Their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration.
We have until April 30, 2007 to post our comments on the FDA's site for or against this 'Guidance' which is the precursor to regulation -- and which will remove your ability to maintain a pro-active stance in your own health care.

Understand that this is not the first time that "Big Pharma" has tried to push the FDA to regulate its own profits by taking away our freedom - some years back it was the push for "Nutraceuticals" where the pharmaceutical companies tried to get vitamins and supplements under the radar using the guise of nutritionally based chemicals in an attempt to control the huge amounts of money that exchanges in the natural health field. The term "Nutraceuticals" was fashioned to represent a mix of nutritional supplements and pharmaceuticals under the control of the FDA. It didn't fly 5 years ago ... so now, they are back with a new tactic - all trying to remove your freedom of choice in regard to your health care.
Your access to vitamins, minerals, supplements, essential oils, stones, crystals, rocks, colloidals ... anything that has to do with alternative medicine modalities ... stands the real chance of being stripped from the shelves of stores and availability across the net and usage is about to become criminalized.
DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN.
We have the opportunity to speak our mind. Please .. do so and Make A Difference.
