Another one........
Well Friday started out quiet, so quiet I could hear the pump for the water for my home and I headed for the basement since nothing using water was being used in the house at the time. And what greeted me was a flooded basement, at least three inches of water on the floor of my half finished basement..... Yikes... Being an expert at floods, too many to count both up and down in the house I took it in stride.....
And I make some attempt to START the clean up, but having other things to attend to (preparing for a fund raiser for someone without health coverage that fell ill and now has large medical bills to shell out for ) I promptly locked myself out of the house...... Now what I learned from that is...... my house is NOT easy to break into.... and when I rallied for help, it took over an hour to get back into the house.......
That evening I was scheduled to go to a few Irish bars to sell tickets for yer man and we sell over $700 in tickets for him... I had also offered to make some food for the evening on Sunday ( sweet and sour meatballs, quiches etc) and while I was cooking, I put an apple pie in the oven inside a pyrex dish.... which promptly exploded with glass flying everywhere.... some of which stuck to my foot burning it........ But the fund raiser was a sucess even though my foot was very sore!!!!
And I am back after a weekend of not such good luck.... and I can look at this from two angles? I choose to take the perspective that the basement was not finished..... and it's hard to break into my house and I didn't need the apple pie anyway...... :-)
