Cancer is...
an invasive disease and in some countries there are concentrated pockets of people who get affected by this horrible and invasive disease. In Ireland the numbers of people on the east coast that have been afflicted has multiplied since the opening of Sellafield in Wales.
Dublin and surrounding counties such as Louth, Wicklow and Meath have had a major increase over the last 30 years and still counting. Anyone who has lived there for any length of time has a much higher risk of becoming sick. In my own family of 12 , who were born, reared and lived in Dublin, Ireland for years ( including parents) aged from 40 through 81 in the last two years alone one case of colo-rectal cancer ( Thank God, he made a full recovery) One case of breast cancer ( just started treatment, hopefully it was diagnosed early enough and we think so!! ) and a case of suspected cervical cancer ( which has since been cleared (again thank God)
There are of course many other countries that have areas where increased instances of cancer is found based upon nearness to either nuclear facilities or Military bases. I am of the opinion that our governments need to do more to control these kinds of things so that their citizens are not placed in danger based upon where they choose to buy their homes...
