How to keep healthy boundaries in your relationships

Interesting Article on aol about a ban on Fortune Telling being lifted.....
http://news.aol.com/article/town-drops-ban-on-fortunetelling/155070

There are many towns that ban or have certain rules and regulations about where and when one can read cards or *tell fortunes* ( I personally do not care for that term).
I myself had to apply for a Permit to do so in the town I live in and go through a back ground check which at the time shocked me......
Now while I understand the need to have some kind of regulation on people who read tarot or do readings through whatever method they connect, this kind of ban, and or regulations being placed upon this business shows that we have a long way to go with regards to readers who ask for money to remove a hex, and those kinds of activities have a very negative long term effect on those who wish to conduct themselves professionally and ethically...and those are the ones who have to still suffer,  for the sins of others.....
Looks like in some places those old prejudices are still in place, and we have *Miles to go* before the *stigma* attached to readings and readers no matter their method of connecting is But the lifting of bans is sure a good place to start.....

You are right Joan for I had to have a background check when I used hypnotherapy also.  It was and has been used for ages and is used in conjunction with medical practices so I was really surprised when I was asked to have a background check if I was going to use it in my practice.  Strange but a lot of religions call hypnotherapy "evil" and ban it also.  Thanks Joan for giving us something to think about today.

I have no objections to having a back ground check, but I do object to readers who prey on the vulnerabilities of those who are suffering emotional trauma and have questions and in their time of weakness are targeted in money making scams. That kind of behavior gives all of us a bad name and it is something that we all struggle with in our daily activities to get past that bad reputation of gypsy type readers, who remove hexes, cast spells that supposedly guarantee results for high fees in cash of course and that article shows that kind of prejudice still exists.
