How to keep healthy boundaries in your relationships

This just makes me really sad....

What kind of country are we running that this kind of situation has to come to pass to make sure a person gets the kind of treatment they need medically?
I understand that people do not want socialist type medical insurance, but obviously where people have had to lose their home to pay for medical bills, there HAS to be a better way.
Why on earth should one of the wealthiest countries in the world not help in some way to provide medical coverage for ALL of it's citizens or at least make it AFFORDABLE??
It's not an ideal situation if you ask me...

I read up on this story online, brought tears to my eyes & twinges of pain to my heart.
Gosh, this could be anyone of us, our parents, our grandparents, a total stranger...this is just wrong beyond explanation.
Several months ago there was an elderly couple who committed suicide because of debt & foreclosure. There was a woman a few months ago that faxed a suicide note to her mortgage company the day her home was set to be auctioned. She indeed killed herself and the police were to late. This is all wrong!
How is that a less wealthy nation such as our homeland can take care of their own, yet this the most powerful & wealthy allows this to happen?? I feel simple minded because I just don't get this. The system has failed ALL of us! Dr's pay so much for malpractice insurance, we pay so much for insurance & medicines...where is all of this money going???
Certainly not toward health care!
Lining the pockets of greedy people somewhere!
Please let change happen with our generation!

I just think it's wrong that a country that has to much to offer cannot come up with some kind of plan that people can have affordable health insurance even if it's only catastrophic insurance with a higher deductible with much lower premium, and a way to save tax free so that you have the deductible available when needed.

I was listening to radio news yesterday and they spoke of the system in Ireland and how successful it is.. I thought of you Joan because I know you are from there..

It would be so beneficial if this transition we are navigating can lead us to greater decision making in the bills that our government passes and solutions that are feasible. Solutions that are for the people, not the greedy heads.
