What does.......
democracy mean to you?
To me democracy means I can vote for whom I want to, live where I want, eat what I want, drive what I want. Some countries afford us those luxuries, while some do not.
On Aol I read an a article about this and felt I should share it....

Apparently a Mayor of a Detriot suburb called Warren has told his approximately 700 town employees that he *expects* their next vehicle to be an American model. Specifically a General Motors or a Chrysler model. He says he could *mandate* that and while some agree with him many more accuse him of draconian measures.
I am of the opinion ( that may not be shared by others) that one should not be lecturing some countries and sending troops to countries to give them democracy while stripping ones own citizens of their democratic rights.
While I can see the benefits of driving American and apparently those auto companies are the biggest tax payers in that town, I think it may be going too far to mandate what vehicles the employees of the mayor drive in their private lives, if that passes what other laws could we expect?
And don't get me started on what other *rights* have been stripped in the name of fighting *terrorism* since 9/11/01..
I would also like to say that I remember exactly what I was doing that morning
(my daughter started kindergarden and I was in college) and I remember the shock and horror everyone experienced, it was like the world stood still. I sincerely hope that NO country ever has to experience that kind of senseless, ruthless attack at ANY time, ANY where...on ANY body....
