Boundaries

How to keep healthy boundaries in your relationships

Yipeeee

I am soooooo excited. I am traveling to Ireland next month for 12 days, and while that is good enough I will be spending a weekend with my mom and two nieces to visit where my mom was born ( Clifden, in Co. Galway)  and visiting family and attending a wedding. I have just received news that I am thrilled about.

My neice was in a movie set in Dublin filmed two summers ago ( 2006) where she plays Aidan Quinns daughter. It's called 32a and it's not a bus ( that was my first guess :-) it's a bra size, not one I am familiar with, but a bra size nonetheless. It's about a girl coming of age and I was so happy to hear about it but disapointed that I had not had the opportunity to see it!!! And while it opened in the Galway Film Festival last year ( I missed it of course ) I anxiously awaited it's opening here, to no avail.... She plays a girl called Sinead,  and her dad Frank is played by Aidan Quinn, she is only 9 years of age. Her name is Madhbh ni Dalaigh (Maeve nee Dah-lig) Maeve Daly in Irish, her parents have brought her up to be bi-lingual and she attends a school in Dublin that teaches all subjects through the Irish language.

I get an email tonight telling me that it is in the Dublin Film Festival on Feb 22nd ( and while I planned to be three hours away in Galway that night) I will NOT miss this....Finally after two years, I will get to see her, my parents who saw it last year said she was BRILLIANT, but you know they could be a little biased?

Oh I am so happy for you!

Just this morning I was goggling Ireland vacations for myself--won't be able to go until after my daughters wedding next year but it #1 on my list of places to visit before I die! :)

Have fun...and be safe!

If you are going to go to Ireland, book your flights EARLY, I got mine in September of last year and only spent $400 and my boyfriend who did not listen to me spent $700!! Booking early can save you big bucks!! The Irish airline is on line and probably your best bet. Use your atm card there as you will not have to pay exchange rates, because the rate of exchange for the dollar against the euro is crazy, you end up paying 145 dollars for 100 euros so you will find it expensive.
This is not going to be any big blockbuster movie she is in, its been made almost two years and its not had any real publicity except two film festivals, I am not sure it sold well, but who cares, I think it will be great and I am excited :-) I thought I would need to buy the dvd and watch that, but on a big screen will be so much better...

Dear Joan:

Going to Ireland has been my desire for many years.  I want to see where my grandfather grew up and to visit all the places he told us about. My Mother was an Irish lass with a great heart just like you and I think you are blessed with the "magic" that is passed down from generations also.  I will be with you in spirit but please return with lots of stories for us!  Most of all enjoy!

I am going in April with my kids also, I booked that in September too, thankfully, since I got that cheap as well :-)
I am blessed as are my children to be able to go once or twice a year, and not normally have to pay and with my parents there it's important for my children to see and spend time with their grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins.
