MEMORIAL FOR PAUL F BROOKS

One of our Advisors here on Keen (We See) has lost his son in Iraq

His family is in need of Prayer, Healing Light, and Love.

Sergeant Paul F Brooks leaves behind small children, wife, parents and friends. This is a tribute to the Brooks family and the fallen who help us live in  freedom.

The News Story

While traveling in my car yesterday I listened to a news feed commentary on the radio. The radio host gave a dose of reality as to the importance of Memorial Day and the often forgotten truth of just exactly what  we celebrate for this memorable holiday. These young men and women fight for our right to drive in our cars state to state without having to show our papers of identity, no guards at each state border. We can navigate anywhere, at any time of day or night to anywhere we wish to go without justifying our whereabouts to anyone. We can stop and buy a cup of coffee 24 hours aday. We don't need to turn in our vehicles for them to melt down the metal to create aircraft for the war. We are not rationed our food. We are not policed on our daily activity or questioned what we choose to buy. We vacation where we choose and shop at any store we like. We practice whatever religion resonates in our hearts and can turn on the television and be entertained at any hour of the day or night with an endless choice of stations. We can attend any school we choose, and interview wherever we are qualified for the job. We can open up our own business and attain every opportunity that is presented to us.

Let us honor those that have fallen in the name of our FREEDOM and honor those that are alive and continuing to keep our lives the true gift that it is right here in The United States Of America.

I'm a ten year veteran of the United States Air Force, and I am so sorry to hear that another one of my brothers in arms has fallen. I will send out as much healing energy as I can, but within myself it leaves a cold hollow feeling... even after being out for two years it doesn't get any easier.

Yes indeed Rosie and who else could know but your family after losing two..

And Carrie, those of us not in the military and not having a loved one serving, we cannot fully experience it as you do..

I've lost many friends since this war began.  I myself am a service-connected disabled veteran (USAF) from OIF & OEF.  While I can't relate to losing a child in the war, I have experienced the same loss, in a different way, but it was in part due to my service.

There are no words to express, no actions to be taken, that can make this pain go away... there is only the knowledge, that his presence will be felt everyday, but all of his brothers and sisters in arms.

May you have many blessings,

Thanks for the responses everyone.. Sergeant Brooks was Paul Brooks son, our advisor with the screen name "We See" the link to his page is within the blog article. I am certain he would be touched by personal correspondence sent directly to him.

You are welcome Moon... Paul is my friend and it is the least that I can do for him. He needs as much support now as any one of us can give to him. I am sure he would welcome you contacting him personally. I felt it only appropriate to honor Paul Jr. on this day.
