Ask A Witch: Confused in Cuernavaca, Mexico

Dear Alexandra

I am am a newly-practicing Wiccan. I live in Mexico, and it is difficult to find Wiccan Covens here to guide in consecrating ritual tools, initiation rites, and just general guidance. Is there someway that you can guide me in the process of doing the above tasks myself?

Very respectfully,

Confused in Cuernavaca, Mexico

Dear Confused,

If you are seeking fellowship, you can join a Wiccan email list, such as Amber and Jet on Yahoo, to get to know people who might know people in your area. You never know, some day the time may be right for you to move, or for somebody to move near you. There are also many directories on-line for Pagan groups, such as WitchVox. It is good to know your way around the circle on your own, even if it is impossible to self-initiate into a specific clergy. I suggest you take a look at some good books such as "The Spiral Dance" by Starhawk, "Wicca for Beginners" by Thea Sabin and "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham, so that you will have a reference as to how to perform some basics.

Light!

Alexandra
