If you're already suspicious at this point, there is probably a valid reason. A divorce can be a very messy time, both emotionally and in practical life, to have a relationship with someone. It may be advisable to wait until the divorce is finalized before seeing this man to avoid becoming involved or even evidence in a legal case. Your letter implies that he is not seeing you currently because his wife is having him followed? Some elements of this situation don't make sense to me, and I want you to be cautious.
