Ask A Witch: Mocked in Tallahassee, FL
Dear Alexandra,
I just recently got up the courage to tell my family my plans of becoming a witch. Well instead of supporting me, like they said they always would, they call me a Satan worshiper and make fun of me. Do you possibly know of a spell to promote family harmony, or perhaps a small ritual? Well anyway, thank you for your time!

Dear Mocked,
First, it is important to find out from your family why they are saying things that hurt you. You should impress upon them that this is very important to you, and that you are trying to share something with them about you. Humour could be their way of showing love and surprise. Be careful not to let their laughter make you defensive or angry or to force your plans upon their own lives. At this point, working a spell on your family may not be a wise thing to do. But working on your own reactions is a good place to start, and can help prove to those around you that you have a positive new influence in your life. I will include a small prayer to still anger that is widely spread, often called the "Druid Prayer for Peace."
