Ask A Witch: Sunshine in Toronto, ON

Dear Alexandra...

I have had a tough year, I feel because of this I can't perceive things properly. I am a very giving soul, not financially or sexually, but emotionally and with loyalty. I met this wonderful man, we hit it off instantly, we get quite close one night and he completely backed off, stating that he was not looking for a relationship, in return I stated the same to protect my feelings. We both said that our friendship would not suffer for what happened, I thought it would, but it didn't. He is away at school, so we chat a lot or email a lot, and if anything we have become incredibly close, very spiritual. We discuss our dreams and goals; we truly are very similar. He has been here for me like no one else ever. He is not dating anyone else, nor am I. I can feel the positive energy when we are together. He has even stated that his life is better for having me in his life. What is really happening here? I am so frightened to bring it up, as I don't want to rock the boat to speak. ANY advice? Please...

Dear Sunshine,

What I think may be happening here is that neither one of you was ready to commit to a relationship because you were too afraid to take that leap of trust. Now, your friendship has grown such that the hard part, the trust and closeness, has already been taken care of! You should still be careful to not begin a relationship until you're ready, especially since a friendship is at stake. Eventually, you may find yourself wanting to become something more with him. Tell him that, whatever happens, you want to stay friends with him. And if you do begin a relationship, stay friends first and keep the same sharing communication that you have now.

Light!

Alexandra
