What do you do if you have to choose between your best friend who you've known all your life or your boyfriend who you have been dating for 1 year and 2 months and are engaged. My best friend says he told her that he cheated on me, but he tells me different. I don't know what to do. I was trying to break up with him, but things just got all screwed up. Please help me. If I were in your shoes, the wedding would definitely be off for now. That sort of doubt and mistrust is nothing you want to bring into a new marriage, whether he cheated or not. You need to take care of yourself in this situation. Make sure that any sex you have with your boyfriend is protected, and get yourself tested for Sexually Transmitted Diseases annually.
Learning the truth of the situation may be difficult, if not impossible. Things don't seem to be leaning in favor of your boyfriend, if your best friend has no motive to lie about such a serious betrayal. All of this doesn't mean that you have to dump your boyfriend yet. But you shouldn't dismiss your concerns. If you still want a relationship with him to survive, you should take your time in counseling rebuilding trust and re-evaluating his suitability as a future husband.
