When positioning any furniture for improvement of your life you are practicing Geomancy. I suggest you read more about Feng Shui to explore this manner of change. Some Feng Shui hints about placing your bed are to put it within sight of the door but not in line with it or in line with a window. Do not place the bed under an exposed beam or against a wall that is shared with a bathroom. Do not let your bed face a mirror or open shelves. Also do not put your bedroom over a kitchen stove or a garage or storage room. Directions correspond to the following influences: North is for stability and grounding, East is for change and new beginnings, South is for passion and energy, West is for emotion.
