Ask A Witch: Karn-Aut-Rahl of Warwickshire, UK

Dear Alexandra...

I have been capable of healing with some kind of energy (it feels tingly warm, hot, cold, electric, and like pressure) since I was 10. I am now 23. Along with this I have a fairly undisciplined nature, so subsequently I don't practice daily on a continuous basis. I always thought that I was being totally lazy.  Until some years ago I really tried to make myself do stuff on a daily basis like exercise, Tai Chi, mental exercise and out of body experiences. Yet, it fell off within a few weeks. I get periodic depressive periods and frequent lack of motivation. Can you suggest another direction I can research in that may help me actually do something useful in my life-without the aid of Amphetamine or Prozac (which does not work on me).

Thank you.

Dear Karn-Aut-Rahl,

Well first of all, I'm no doctor. So you'll have to continue to seek professional medical advice for your depression. If you don't like what your doctor prescribes, get another doctor! Magical healing should always be used in conjunction with the healing of a modern physician.

If you'd like to develop your healing skills, then I suggest you practice Grounding, or linking your own energy flow with that of the Earth, as often as possible to conserve your own strength. Then, begin practicing your healing on other living things such as plants and animals to learn how to direct the energy. Once you have become well practiced with this you can begin practicing on yourself to receive the energy in the same way that you draw energy into yourself when Grounding. Sorry, but you're going to have to practice daily! Set aside a time for yourself in the morning to work on your skills.

Light!

Alexandra
