Ask a Witch: Frustrated and Hurt in Hamersville, OH
Dear Alexandra,
My fiancé and I are involved with Child Services and are doing a case plan with them. He seems to think that they have plans to take our children when we least expect it, but I keep telling him that if they were going to take them they would have done it when they first came out to our house. It is causing a lot of problems between us, and I'm thinking of leaving him because I'm afraid that his feelings towards our caseworker will jeopardize our case plan and cause them to take our children because of his hostility. What should I do? I love him, and I don't want to leave, but my children come first! Can you help?
Sincerely yours,
Frustrated and Hurt in Hamersville, OH

Dear FAH,
I'm not sure if I have the full idea of your situation, but you should definitely discuss with your fiancé the seriousness of the situation. If he has a problem with your particular caseworker, you can always request to have a different worker assigned to the case. Hostility is not the answer, and if your fiancé loves you and your children, he should be willing to modify his actions if you discuss them with him. If not, then perhaps the problem is deeper with him, and this is a better reason to leave than you initially thought.
Light!
Alexandra
