Funny Calls
Spring is in the air this Monday! I did some business online. No Keen calls today. Exploring Keen for the first time in a while, I was excited to see the new Availability Manager, but dismayed to find that my old feedback comments have been purged! You can still see the stars if you hunt for them, and I saved some quotes in my profile, but in my listings I look like a newbie even though I've been on Keen for eight years! I also wonder what happened with all the qualification verifications they were having us pay for years ago? I fiddled around with updating my personal business web-site. I wanted to add this blog as a link. Also, my best friend pointed out that more than 10% of profits from PayPal sales from my site benefit schizophrenics since I am one! I had a couple interesting calls on my business line today. One of them from a client booking me as a tea leaf reader at a bridal shower with 35 guests. We've been going back and forth on e-mail for a while, and I thought it was cute that she seemed nervous on the phone. "So, how do we make this happen?" I'm glad we were able to hash out the details and put her mind at ease! The second interesting call showed a New York number on my caller-ID. The conversation with the gentleman went something like this:
Caller: Yeah, I wanted to book you for a party.
Me: You do know that I am located in Washington state?
Caller: Oh... Man... You came really highly recommended. Well, maybe I could at least have a personal reading next time I travel to Seattle on business?
I guess that's the good news about losing my old "day job" due to my disability. I don't have to pass up devoted clients! When I was teaching, I'd often get calls for appointments I just couldn't make. I'd try to recommend a local reader and get the flattering, "oh, nevermind... I just really had my heart set on you." I also called one of my party bookers and a couple of people who run local fairs to let them know my schedule has opened up. Local folks, get appointments while you can! I know my tea leaf readings are really picking up. There are no other readers in my area. Hey, fellow tea leaf readers, how much are you charging your local clients? I want to make sure I'm not ripping anybody off!
