Pot advocates gather for Hempfest
I'm just starting to recover from my busy weekend. I vended tarot readings at Hempfest which was incredibly fun but a lot of work! I set up on Saturday morning and didn't make much money until about 3pm when the hippies woke up. I met a lot of psychotic drifters and learned how to pull people in with my eyes like a tractor beam. I met a crazy dude from Florida who woke up one day and decided to fly across the country to sell T-shirts at a fair he'd never attended. I watched pot smokers flee police into the water and crowd under my umbrella when it rained. I sold many a tarot reading and heard some interesting new questions that I'd never heard before. One regarding a well excavation on a homestead and one woman asking if it was her time to die, which prompted a referral to the suicide hotline from me. I got an invitation to another fair from a guy who ran it, and I was thanked by the old toothless dude named Doc who runs Hempfest. On the second day a random woman gave me some great yarn and knitting needles out of the blue and I discovered the true idiocy of bringing a bulky table and umbrella when I had to wait in a long line of vendor cars to break camp. All in all, an experience I'll be glad to repeat.
