Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I appreciated the March 23rd column in The Seattle Times by Daneen Skube, PhD, "Forget phony psychics, but respect intuition."   Our culture devalues the gut feelings of individuals to the point where Skube felt the need to deprecate psychics actively before feeling safe enough to explain why listening to your heart might be a good idea!  Rather than encouraging people to practice self-knowledge in secret due to the implication that those who "claim" to be empowered lack emotional stability and maturity, I would like to express my personal belief that trusting one's inner voice should be done with pride!  I agree, however, that one can trust a psychic, as long as that trust is paired with a healthy dose of one's own intuition and common sense!

Thank you,
Alexandra
