New FAQ: Can I share my reading?

Can I share my reading, or do I have to keep it secret or private?

I'm getting asked a lot by clients if they are allowed to share their readings, since another local reader and many on-line readers have told clients that it is bad luck to tell anyone the content of your reading. There is a well-meaning basis to this belief. Perhaps you were told as a child not to share your birthday or turkey wishbone wish or it wouldn't come true. My husband won't even read his fortune cookie fortune out loud, instead passing it silently to me across the table.

The reason behind this is that, if a malicious person knows anything about you, they can work against your goals. However, the entire point of my readings is to empower people to take charge of their own lives and free themselves from the perceived restrictions from external forces. Malevolent magical workers are rare enough not to have to worry about them in a normal, everyday life! Besides which, this form of prevention is, in my opinion, a bit restrictive. Almost like avoiding the chance of being mugged by never leaving your house.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest that I am of the opinion that the practice of telling clients to keep their readings secret should be abolished. At best, it limits the client and may create fear. At worst, it can allow those who use scripted readings to do so undetected. In the case of my fortune telling, your readings are yours to do with what you will. You can tell anyone about them, you can publish them in print or on-line, and I even encourage people to talk about my readings on social networks! Just like with my other written or recorded works, I do ask that you give credit to me by linking back to my web-site!  Share your intentions, loudly and proudly, with the universe!

Bravo!  I didn't know that it was a trend to keep readings a secret, but I would encourage clients to share what they want to to those closest to them if they so choose, or even another psychic.  If there is something I have missed in a reading or something that another psychic can add to my reading GREAT!  all the more information for the client to work with.  I would discoarage sharing it with people who can effect your disired outcame tho, just so that wouldn't be an option or possibility.  Great post Earthshod!

Ditto tay between worlds...I can't imagine why any reader would ask a client to keep a reading a secret...the more insight from readers the better!

Wow, I always spoke of my readings and still do when I have them done. I've never told a client to keep it secret.  I think it's neat to watch what unfolds and there are times when an advisor speaks of something or someone - will meet someone with blond hair, moustache and blue eyes - and the client thinks, yeah - right, and a week later while out at lunch grabbing a sandwhich and standing in the long line, they start a converstation while standing there.  I have a majority of my clients tell their friends bc at times the info has to do with their friends in some form or another or the bff is with them at the meeting of blue eyed guy.  WTG Tay, you are so right. Different psychics have different gifts and I think it's great if another psychic can add more to it. We're here to help people. WTG, that's a great post Earthshod!

I agree with you on this one Earthshod. In fact the fears brought on by this can cause a more negative impact. By sharing their reading, they are putting more positive energy into it, therefore, making the reading more empowered with the positive.

I say do away with the secrecy and holding onto fears. Let your reading manifest by sharing. If a reader is feeding you negative stuff then maybe they are trying to keep you bound to them by saying keep it secret.

Kudos to this article!
