8 of Pentacles
The Eight of Pentacles is the card of the apprentice. It represents learning, both formal and informal. It comes up when we are studying, learning new things, or perfecting our skills in some way. Because it is a Pentacles card, it relates to practical matters - things that can be seen or measured in some way.
It can also suggest its opposite - being too much of a perfectionist. If there are a lot of cards associated with stress and worry alongside it, then this is what is being pointed out. We are meant to strive to do our best, but not to the extent where it becomes paralysing.
When the 8 of Pentacles comes up it is a message to pay attention to detail, to go into situations with the attitude that you will learn from them, and to do things to the best of your ability. Because it is a card of apprenticeship, it also suggests that there people around who will teach you. Look out for them!
