You’ve probably heard the expression, “It’s easier to give than to receive.” It’s certainly true that receiving makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Asking for help is even harder. They cringe at the thought of it.

Think about this. When you do something nice for someone else, how does it make you feel? Chances are it gives you a warm happy glow. It’s a “feel good” feeling.

So, if you deny others the opportunity to help you once in a while, guess what? You are denying them the chance to have that feel good feeling for themselves.

Put that way, it’s obvious that receiving is just another form of giving. They are part of the same continuum and you can’t have one without the other.

If you think you’re a “giver” who could never be a “taker” – think again!  A bit of give and take makes the world go around.
