A Tarot Tale - Jump or be Pushed!
Does this sound familiar? Shock, horror! You lost your job. It was a job, however, that you hated anyway but were too stuck at to leave. Or Sob, sob! Your boyfriend dumped you, but you came to see that it was actually a relief because it was a relationship that wasn’t going anywhere anyway. The Major Arcana sequence of cards from 11 to 16 shows us why such events are so commonplace.
Card 11, Justice, offers us choices and alternatives.
Card 12, the Hanged Man - we're still hanging about, deliberating.
Card 13, Death, offers us the opportunity to make changes (out with the old, in with the new, letting go of that which is outgrown and no longer useful to us)
If we fail to take advantage of this opportunity to make changes, then this is what happens next.
Card 14, Temperance, shows us marking time, struggling to keep things in balance.
Card 15, The Devil, shows us starting to get fearful. Something is up, we sense it and are afraid that it’s not going to be good, but we’re still too scared to initiate change ourselves.
Then along comes Card 16, The Tower. Wham! We are given a good hard push, we fall off the end of the diving board, and our world collapses. We are FORCED to make the change that was offered to us way back at Card 13.
It’s an interesting little Tarot Tale, worth bearing in mind next time you’re complaining about your job or your relationship or whatever. Jump – or be pushed!
