"The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter." Mandie Ellingson

When I look back on it, all the "worst" moments of my life contained the seeds of something that eventually changed me for the better. It may be hard to see it at the time, but it's always so.

Imagine if Mother Teresa had simply given up in the face of so much poverty? What if Martin Luther King had decided that the lot of his people was never going to change? Or if the Dalai Lama decided that the might of China was too enormous to challenge?

Every difficulty presents us with the opportunity to be bitter - or better. Which do you choose?
