Can You Change the Outcome of a Reading?

You've put down a spread around your issue, but you don't like the outcome. Can you change it? Mary Greer describes what she calls the Breakthrough Process. It goes like this.

From the spread, take out the card that most troubles you (often, but not always, the outcome card). Now look again at the spread and choose a card that represents to you the desired outcome. You can go into the rest of the deck if necessary to find it, but it's usually there in the spread itself, in my experience. Place it over the card you don't like, covering it completely.

Now look again at the spread (or into the remainder of the deck if you need to) and find a card that represents the attitude you would need to adopt to achieve the desired outcome. From this, develop an affirmation ( that is, a statement that what you want is already happening). Repeat your affirmation daily until you achieve that which you are seeking.

The final step, before you put the cards away, is to commit to doing one action that will help to move you in the right direction. Make that phone call, read that book or write that letter!

I have used this technique with a lot of clients and can vouch for the fact that it works. It sends them away feeling empowered, and with a plan of action.
