Most people have heard of the laws of attraction and manifestation these days. They have heard that if you set a goal it can be realized, no matter how “unachievable” it may seem when first put out there. But why do some people succeed where others fail? One of the reasons for the discrepancy lies in “self talk.”

Self talk is the inner dialogue going on within the mind. It’s the conversation that is happening at a level which gives the subconscious its instructions. Without realizing it, many people’s self talk is very negative and self defeating. The phrase that causes the most trouble is “I can’t.”

Have you ever said this: “I can’t do math,” or “I can’t let go of him/her,” or “I can’t lose weight.” Underneath those apparently harmless phrases lies a world of trouble. You are actually instructing your mind to fail! Your subconscious stops looking for solutions and accepts that you have given in.

Be really vigilant about what you are telling yourself. Instead of using those negative phrases, substitute words that activate your subconscious to seek change: “My math is improving,” or “I am moving on day by day” or “I am getting fitter and feeling better.”

Your mind is your most powerful tool for success. Use it wisely and you will amaze yourself with what you achieve.
