We need to achieve a balance between socializing and solitude. If we are around others all the time we don’t learn to appreciate our own company. If we are isolated, we fail to benefit from what others can teach us. At the end of each day, reflect on how much time you have spent alone or in company, so you work constantly towards a healthy balance between the two extremes. Balance is an active process – it is achieved through a constant series of small adjustments.

For a really good read, try "Intimacy and Solitude" by Stephanie Dowrick. Stephanie's writings will guide you into a whole new level of spiritual exploration. Her book "Forgiveness and Other Acts of Love" is another powerful title well worth exploring.
