As a female, I don’t always understand how the Other Half of the human race ticks. My brother is one of those guys who flirts with anything in a skirt, and I know women often misunderstand his intentions when he chats them up at a party. They think it’s Love at First Sight but he’s just being himself and having a great time. So I asked my brother for his thoughts on how to tell if a man is really interested. Here’s what he said:

 

If a man is interested in some sort of future with you, he’ll start putting out Buying Signals. What are those? Well, instead of just saying “I’ll call you,” (by which he can mean anything from “maybe I’ll call you” to “don’t call me, I’ll call you...”) he’ll say, “I’ll call you tomorrow night.” He’s made a definite plan for the future – he’s “buying.”

 

Another example – he starts talking about specific future events – Christmas, his birthday, the next Big Game – and his talk includes you being there. Those are also Buying Signals. He is using the words “we” and “us” not just “me” and “I” – so he’s letting you know you’re included in his plans. He’s demonstrating that in his mind, he’s open to the relationship developing and going somewhere in the future.
