Lessons from the Cutlery Drawer
Take a look in your cutlery drawer. See the spoons and forks? They are curved. They can only stack neatly with another spoon or fork of similar dimensions. Co dependent people are like that. They need to be with someone whose imperfections correspond with theirs.
Now look at the knives. A knife can stand side by side with any other knife and still be a reasonable fit. That’s a great model for a relationship between two happy, independent people who choose to be together, but don’t “need” each other.
So what are you? A spoon? A fork? Or a knife….?
